Subaru Forester vs Toyota RAV4
Toyota proves a strong challenger against the Subaru brand, and the RAV4 SUV is no exception. While the RAV4 might have a more stylish exterior design to some, it lacks a lot of the passenger space of the Subaru Forester. The Forester offers some of the best interior space of any SUV of its class, with a whopping 111.9 cubic feet of space. The Toyota RAV4 underwent a redesign recently which cut its passenger volume down to 98.9 cubic feet.
The overall cargo space of the Forester is great for bringing outdoor gear to Kinnickinnic State Park near River Falls, with up to 76.1 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seatbacks folded in. The Toyota RAV4 offers up to 69.8 cubic feet with its back seats folded in.
Subaru Forester vs Chevy Equinox
While the Chevy brand is well-known for the robust performances of their larger pickup trucks and SUVs, these cars often do not contribute the best fuel economy. The Subaru Forester can travel up to 26 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, while its main competitor from Chevy, the Equinox SUV, falls short in this area. The new Equinox can travel up to 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway with FWD. The base engine of the Equinox even falls short in power, generating up to 170-horsepower with its turbocharger. Meanwhile the standard flat-four engine of the Forester generates up to 182 total horsepower. Both of these SUVs can tow up to 1,500 lbs. with these engines.
Subaru Forester vs Honda CR-V
The Honda CR-V also provides a strong challenge to the efficiency and design of the Subaru Forester. While the Honda CR-V offers excellent efficiency, it lacks many of the same standard features of the Forester, despite its higher starting price. The new Subaru Forester near Chippewa Falls, WI comes standard with conveniences like Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, Subaru Symmetrical AWD, and LED front headlights. The Honda CR-V has a similar AWD that comes available on all its trims, but all other previous features only come available on select CR-V trims for an extra price. With the Subaru Forester, you get a lot more for almost $1,000 less.
