The Rambler brand was acquired by the Wisconsin based American Motors Company (AMC). With the newly formed entity Chilson Inc received the rights to sell Renault and Jeep automobiles in 1969. With these franchises Chilson Inc now had a small fuel efficient vehicle line as well as a full line of sport utilities and trucks.
In 1975 the Subaru franchise was purchased from a local dealer. At this time Subaru specialized in inexpensive, reliable, fuel efficient vehicles. Soon Subaru would offer an entry line of four wheel drive sedans and coupes. At the time no other manufacturer offered any vehicles with the four wheel drive option in small fuel efficient vehicles.
In 1987 Chrysler Motors purchased American Motors Corporation. With this change in ownership it brought the opportunity to expand our pre-owned vehicle inventories to include minivans and trucks. As we were now affiliated with Chrysler, we could purchase low mileage fleet, off lease, and factory executive driven trucks and vans.
In 1990 we purchased the Suzuki and Isuzu franchises from a local dealer group. With this acquisition we again had a full line of trucks, more sport utilities, and for the first time a new minivan to sell.
With our line up of franchises solidified we purchased our first Chrysler and Dodge store in January 2004 in Chippewa Falls. In April 2008 we purchase our third facility Corner Motors in Cadott. With this acquisition we acquired a new market area as well as added the opportunity to sell the HD Dodge Rams. We now had a line of vehicles to offer our commercial clients.

Bernard is involved with every aspect of the business as is his
seven children. Steve Chilson, Lynn Schultz and Jeanne Szepieniec
work as the management team in the Eau Claire facility. Mark
Chilson and Kate Chilson work out of the Chippewa Falls location.
Deb Chilson and Matt Chilson head up the team in Cadott.
